Landscape Architect

The right candidate for this position will be a self-motivated Landscape Architect / Land Planner who: excels at creating hand drawn concept plans and further developing ideas with colleagues and clients, uses advanced AutoCAD drafting skills to create site plans, permit documents, and construction drawings, and shows consistent work ethic with dedication to our clients and to our deadlines.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing and managing landscape architecture and land planning projects from concept through completion
  • Reading, interpreting, and applying zoning ordinances and regulatory policies
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Conducting public meetings and presentations without supervision
  • Assisting in preparation of proposals
  • Coordinating with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to accomplish the overall project objectives

Requirements:

  • Excellent Hand Graphics
  • Proficiency and Speed with AutoCAD and Adobe Programs
  • Experience with the Regulatory Processes Necessary to Entitle Projects (Property Rezonings, Special Use & Conditional Use Processes, etc.)
  • Construction Management Experience
  • Minimum BLA degree and 4+ Years of Professional Experience (Registration Preferred)

Civil Project Engineer – Wilmington, NC

Paramounte Engineering seeks a highly-motivated individual with a proven track record in design, permitting and production of full construction documents for both site development (residential/commercial) and public utility projects.  This individual will act as lead engineer/designer for site development and/or water and wastewater projects.  FE Certificate or PE license preferred.  Responsibilities will include producing construction plans for site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater detention/retention, storm drainage, water and sewer, roadway, pump station and force main design as well as preparation of all associated calculations, reports and other supporting documents.

As a multidisciplinary firm offering surveying, land planning/landscape architecture, and civil engineering, Paramounte Engineering fosters and highly collaborative work environment.  This person will perform project design duties with a team to develop detailed design documents for construction projects. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to coordinate project submittals, facilitate regulatory agency approvals, and obtain construction permits.  Experience with Autocad, Carlson, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Storm Sewer and Hydrographs, WaterCad, Autoturn, and Microsoft Office products are preferred. Professional Land Surveyor

Paramounte Engineering seeks a professional land surveyor to join an established team of qualified surveyors in Wilmington, NC.  The qualified candidate should be a licensed land surveyor in the State of North Carolina or be able to become licensed as soon as possible according to the licensing board schedule.  At least 10 years’ experience in diverse surveying environments, with at least three years in a leadership role, is required. A degree in a survey-related discipline is required; bachelor’s degree is preferred. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson Software preferred.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate proficiency and the ability to:

  • Schedule, plan, manage and execute tasks for multiple survey projects.
  • Coordinate survey tasks with project managers.
  • Prepare, review and modify boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, land subdivisions and legal descriptions.
  • Work in the field as needed, either on an individual basis or as part of a crew.
  • Supervise multiple field crews, teaching and overseeing standards of practice.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.  Understand construction practices related to construction layout.
  • Understand state and local regulations regarding surveying.
  • Develop surveying fees and write proposals.
  • Adhere to project schedules and complete projects according to deadlines.
  • Effectively communicate information to staff, clients, and principals.

Survey Party Chief

Paramounte Engineering has an immediate position available for a survey party chief in Wilmington, NC. PEI seeks an energetic, adaptable, and solution oriented person who can operate independently while under the direct supervision of licensed surveyors on projects throughout North Carolina.  Duties include field surveying for boundary, topographic, ALTA, hydrographic and control surveys as well as construction staking.  GPS, total station, and data collection systems experience required.  Candidate should demonstrate ability to manage others, provide training and maintain professional relationships with client representatives and other staff members.  Ability to understand construction plans and to provide surveying for large, fast paced projects is required.  The position requires knowledge of both survey technology and basic civil engineering concepts. Candidates should be familiar with:

  • Boundary and ALTA surveys
  • Topographic and aerial surveys
  • Construction stake out (computation and field work)
  • Residential surveys
  • Commercial surveys

Candidates should be efficient in the following tasks:

  • Leading a multi-person survey crew as well as working as a one-person GPS/Robotic crew
  • Proficient with various instrument and data collector packages
  • Reading and interpreting boundary plats and construction plans
  • Preparing and maintaining field notes and sketches

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years field experience with at least 1 year experience as a crew chief
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to perform assigned field work
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson software packages preferred
